Now let me tell you a little story
About a man named Rex
And his struggle with years of fruitless futility
For he had yet to achieve
What the whole town agreed
The requirement for a nobody
To become a somebody
To have his name go on record
As the ones like years before
To walk home with recognition
Everyone competed for
The annual fair is of what I speak
And this year the one to beat
Was a name of kin, the brother of Rex
Ten years and running proved he’s the best
Although this year, old Rex had swore
The glory would pass him by no more
And jealousy of his dear young bro
Could bring our Rex to a brand new low
Now outside of this town
The world didn’t get in much
And the people didn’t get out much
So this town was there world
And each season
Everyone would strive and try
To create something that could
Change their lives
But for ten years running
Rex had lost the game
To the one and only man
Who shared his last name
He descended beyond the sight
Of improvement of any kind
As he headed to the shed
With murder on his mind
A poisonous inhalant
Yes, that would hit the spot
As defoliants and herbicides
Were tossed into the pot
What started as something virtuous
Had become a deed most foul
And the poorest victim
Was the one most guilty now
He filled a can of aerosol
And left it in his room
Ensuring his brother’s snooze
Wouldn’t end any time soon
To call him a family man wouldn’t have pegged him quite so wrong
But when you’ve got one catalyst to fame, why not make sure the competition is gone
To call him a loving man wouldn’t have pegged him quite so wrong
But when you’ve got one catalyst to fame, why not make sure the competition is gone
His actions didn’t go unnoticed
The whole town quickly knew
Though he got a bit of what he craved
For everyone knew his name
The good deeds in his life
Quickly were forgot
Though his knew recipes
Spawned ideas beyond the crops
He wanted his inventions
To affect people for years
Agent Orange and chemical warfare
Soon after appeared
